Hampi, again

Second year in a row. Drove down again, same route, different headspace.

There’s something that happens around the third hour of the drive when the landscape starts to flatten out and the boulders appear. The brain shifts gears whether you want it to or not.

This time I spent more time at the Hemakuta hill temples at dusk, which most people skip in favour of Vittala. Quieter, older, the kind of place where you sit and watch the light change for an hour and it doesn’t feel like wasted time.

This is going to be an annual thing.
